Dr. Karen Mearow - Associate Dean
Message from the Associate Dean:
The Division is the home to the majority of basic biomedical researchers and educators in the Faculty of Medicine. Our faculty members have a diversity of interests (see our Faculty pages). While the major focus of many of our members is research, and providing excellent research and training opportunities for our graduate students and promising undergraduate science students, we also have a commitment to education. As part of this commitment, our faculty instruct in the undergraduate medical curriculum with the aim of providing a solid foundation in the basic sciences for medical students. In addition to the MD program, we also provide instruction at the undergraduate level in the School of Pharmacy and Faculty of Science courses. At the graduate level, our faculty are members of 4 main research programs which provide the basis for BioMedical Sciences graduate programs administered by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
The last few years have been ones of change for the Division. We have welcomed new faculty members and said goodbye to others in the last 3 yrs. Our new faculty have provided the Division with obvious energy and enthusiasm, and have quickly become integrated into the Division and Faculty as a whole.
